Our dad is an architect and is currently working on a hospital in Glasgow… so he bought us a Celtic shirt! It may be 4 years old… but who cares! Its not like the kits have changed drastically since then.. In fact they have been green and white hoops for 108 years! Before that they were green and white stripes.. which made me wonder what would happen if they changed back to that.. chaos i would imagine… ( even though its still part of their history !)
The main difference in the shirt , is the fabric and the fit.. which fits perfectly into the essay i am going to write this week. The fit is baggier, and the fabric is completely different to the current nike kits.. it’s not as light, stretchy or breathable. The sponsor is made out of a thick foam type material which im sure wouldnt be used now. Side panels and trims on the sleeve are made out of a mesh fabric, for ‘ventilation’.
You can clearly see from this kit, how fabric technology has changed…4 years ago i would be typing how good the fabric is…so who knows in 2015 the fabric might be and probably will be completely different to how it is today and we will wonder why on earth we ever thought the fabric of the 2011 shirts was so great.
Having said all that, I have worn it all day and i am chuffed to bits with it..So here’s to my new old celtic shirt ! Proper Job!
